Carlos Aranha
Artista visivo e scultore | Canada / Ecuador

Carlos Aranha: An Artistic Journey Across Borders**
*He will take part in the Biennale di Vibo Valentia, Italy*
Carlos Aranha’s professional life is a continuous journey across cultures, materials and languages. Born and formed as an artist in Ecuador, he first discovered drawing as a means of communication in his grandfather’s studio. His move to Canada in 1988 marked a turning point: the encounter between two worlds expanded his practice from painting to organic sculpture and environmental installation.
Over more than thirty years he has held over two hundred solo and group exhibitions across several continents. His works are part of permanent museum collections in South Korea, Egypt, France, Portugal, Ecuador, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. Among his international distinctions are the Grand Award at BIAF in South Korea, the Gold Canvas Award, the Global Art Award in Dubai, the International Andrea Mantegna Prize in Italy, and the title of The Best Contemporary Masters 2024.
He has served as a juror at international art festivals and as a Cultural Ambassador, and currently holds the position of Visual Arts Curator at the Canadian Hispanic-Latin American Virtual Museum. His art does not seek to reproduce reality, but to translate emotion, memory, peace and the profound connection between human beings and nature.
In 2026 Carlos Aranha will take part in the **Biennale di Vibo Valentia**, Italy, at the Museo del Valentianum. A new chapter in a journey that continues to connect distant lands through the universal language of art.
